about

Redefining Darkness Records & Seeing Red Records label owner, Thomas Haywood (ex- Abigail Williams, current Grave Plague, HAMMR) launched a podcast in 2015 entitled, Into the Darkness.

The podcast focused on all facets of extreme metal, acting as a talk show / think tank for the genre. Only 3 episodes were recorded before the podcast was put on indefinite hiatus, but the plan to resurrect INTO THE DARKNESS is now in motion.

While new episodes are being created, the first run of episodes are now available for download.

What you can expect?
Interviews w/ extreme metal veterans, up-in-coming bands, album cover artists, and others of the industries elite.

The first installment of Into the Darkness features extreme metal legend, James Murphy (Death, Obituary, Disincarnate, Testament).

- Episode I - James Murphy (Death, Obituary, Testament, Disincarnate)
In this episode James and I discuss his brief time in Agent Steel and cover everything from Morbid Angel, Chuck & Death, Obituary, Shrapnel Records, Safehouse Productions, Murphy Tacos, to some of his favorite records and much more!! Over an hour of great insight from a Metal Master....

- Episode II - Gregor Macintosh (Paradise Lost, Vallenfyre)
Gregor and I cover some new and old with Paradise Lost, chat about Beer and get nerdy with Whales...

- Episode III - Trevor Strnad (Black Dahlia Murder)
As always, Trevor brings the comedy as we discuss a bit of BDM, tour rituals, drummers, Sippin' Time, his Obituarist column, and some metal trivia...
